September is Pain Awareness Month

In addition to a year-round commitment to supporting patients in pain, PRC Alliance Pain Relief Centers is proud to take part in Pain Awareness month, a time when organizations nationwide raise awareness about issues surrounding pain.

You’re Not Alone: The History of Pain Awareness

In early 2001, a group of organizations noticed the growing need to offer more education on pain management. Wanting to make a difference, these groups met and established September as the official Pain Awareness month. They hoped this month would bring a greater understanding of pain and support to individuals, families, communities and the general public suffering from pain. Their goal was to raise public awareness around pain and pain management by bringing all of those in pain together.

In its 19th year of building awareness and support, this group has grown to include a network of members committed to shedding light on the issues surrounding pain. One way of doing so is by encouraging the community to speak up and share their experiences. After all, we can’t spread awareness without sharing words. That’s why the theme for 2019 is “Let’s Talk About Pain.”

PRC Alliance Pain Relief Centers is committed to advocating for patients in pain, and is proud to provide a platform for patients to share their experiences and support. If you’d like to learn more about how, leave us a message.
