September is Pain Awareness Month

In addition to a year-round commitment to supporting patients in pain, PRC Alliance Pain Relief Centers is proud to take part in Pain Awareness month, a time when organizations nationwide promote pain education and raise awareness about issues related to chronic pain.

Wear Blue in September and help people with pain feel included, supported and seen.

You’re Not Alone: The History of Pain Awareness

In early 2001, a group of organizations noticed the growing need to offer more education on pain management. Wanting to make a difference, these groups met and established September as the official Pain Awareness month. They hoped this month would bring a greater understanding of pain and support to individuals, families, communities and the general public suffering from pain. Their goal was to raise public awareness around pain and pain management by bringing all of those in pain together.

In its 20th year of building awareness and support, this group has grown to include a network of members committed to shedding light on the issues surrounding pain. This year’s theme, #MyPainPlan, focuses “on the vital importance of an individualized, multidisciplinary, multimodal approach to pain care.” At PRC Alliance Pain Relief Centers, we believe each person’s pain is unique, and we are proud to champion coordinated and comprehensive pain treatment plans based on your individualized needs and preferences.
